I'm back in China

Well I arrived last Friday back in my home away from home, Tianjin, China. Being back seems perfectly normal but living and working in a new area of the city with different people is strange. I started work at Tianjin's Korean International School yesterday and today was my first day teaching. All of the students and teachers at the school are Korean except for 9 foreign English teachers and 12 Chinese teachers. There's actually a large population of Koreans here in Tianjin...mostly businessmen and their families.

I'm living in a hotel, provided by my school, until I find an apartment. I've GOT to find one quickly, living in a hotel is just hectic!

Anyway, it's nice to be back in China. I really enjoy living here and I have a good job. La vie est belle :)

Hi Lyndsey,
I'm glad that I checked out your blog since I haven't really heard much from you since you left! I really thought that you would call on your birthday. What's the hotel like where you are staying? How is school going?

Love, Mom

Hello my dear niece, Lyndsey,
So happy to read your message and that you've found a nice place to settle into. I've been curious as to whether you were affected by the heavy rains hitting many areas there the past few days. I believe your mother was going to send a copy of Avery's message from Belize, where she too is having a wonderful experience. If you get time, send her a message and maybe she too can write you: AJ1180@messiah.edu

She only gets to the area where they use the computers at various times throughout her studies. Uncle Jim and I will be going on a cruise to Bermuda from Oct. 6th to the 13th, and do hope we don't experience any hurricane's while there. Take care and enjoy your time there. Love you, Aunt Janet.

Lyndsey,
I just got updated on what you've been doing and some of the pictures look like you've had a very cold winter also. The daffodils are beginning to bloom, so I do think spring has finally arrived. Everyone here is well and keeping busy. Jody & Dave are in Fort Wayne, IN for three days, along with Ashley, her boyfriend and his parents. His name is Nate Gerwig, who is a professional basketball player for the "D League" in Fort Wayne. Their last game for the season is tonight, and the two families went to watch him play. He is a graduate of Kent State University in Criminal Justice and 2-yrs. older than Ashley, but was drafted from his basketball days at Kent State, so time will tell how he does with that sport. He is 6'9" tall and 250-lbs....just a little guy! . Ashley, Avery and John are all doing well with their college courses. Ashley is working in the hospital when she has free time from her classes. That has been a wonderful experience for her. Along with her Nursing, she has taken on a second course in Exercise Physiology; Avery has changed her major to Human Development and Family Resources with a minor in Geriatrics; John is still in Film and Communications, but also taking another course in Sociology. So, they too are very busy. I hope you're feeling well. Enjoy your time while there. When do you plan to return home? Love, Aunt Janet
